Gov.Ganduje Assures Of Sustained Partnership with Development Partners

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has reiterated that his administration is committed to working with development partners towards ensuring quality of education. He stated this on tuesday while flagging-off the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE), a programme of UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) at the Government House, Kano. Represented by his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the Governor commended the FCDO for initiating the PLANE programme which he says would assist in strengthening the quality of education in the State. Tsangaya schools deteriorates success of COVID vaccine - CITAD

Report gathered by Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) Kano, says that Tsangaya teachers are one of the challenges behind success of COVID vaccine in Kano State. Project Manager of the Center Hamza Ibrahim made this known in a News Conference in Kano, as source of their finding from partners working toward the success of curbing the virus. He said many teachers believed that the vaccine is not as important as other critical problems they are battling with, as they need much attention than giving them COVID vaccine. "This is only the major hindrance to vaccinating not only the teachers but hundreds other students, which we recommend that authorities close to them to proffer solution to problems around them, to get the easy opportunity of vaccinating them as they form a very considerable number in the State," CITAD. Tinubu holds crucial meeting with Shekarau, as the Senator’s faction takes control of APC machinery in Kano

All Progressive Congress National Leader, Bola Ahmad Tinubu had a closed-door meeting with Senator representing Kano Central, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau in Lagos, on Sunday. The meeting was at the instance of  the Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu as Ibrahim Shekarau strategically take control of APC machinery in Kano. Reports shows that Tinubu has been worried about the ongoing political crises in Kano State in which the All Progressive Congress (APC’s) leadership was snatched from the Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, due to alleged undemocratic dispositions on his part. He made the statement on sunday while representing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje at the 950 million Naira fund raising event organised by the Kano Science Schools Old Students Association (KASSOSA) held at the Convocation Arena of Bayero University Kano. Gawuna noted that when old students gives back to their colleges, they assist the government because the fund goes to new facilities and research..adding that the initiative instill such ideals in current students  to copy and emulate in future. The Sarkin Ban Kano and first commissioner of education in Kano, District Head of Dambatta Alhaji Dr Mukhtar Adnan is dead. According to family sources, Dr Mukhtar Adnan died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness according to family sources. Deposed emir of Kano Sir Muhammadu Sanusi appointed Mukhtar Adnan as Sarkin Bai in 1954 to succeed his retiring father. According to a historian and writer on Kano Emirate Ibrahim Ado Kurawa, Adnan was born in 1926. He attended Dambatta Elementary School, Kano Middle School and Zaria Clerical School. He started his working career in the Kano Native Authority where he served in various capacities before his elevation to the position of Sarkin Bai. He was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives during the first Republic. He was also appointed the first Kano State Commissioner for Education in 1968. Kano Poly. expels 83 students, rusticates 44 over exams misconduct

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano The Polytechnic Academic Board (PAB), Kano State Polytechnic, has approve the expulsion of 83 students for examination misconduct and forgery of results. Fourty-four students were rusticated, 25 warned while ten were exonerated from their offences. A statement issued on Wednesday by Auwal Isma’il Bagwai, the Public Relations Officer of the institution said the decision was taken at the 90th meeting of the board which took place on Monday, November 29, 2021. The Deputy Registrar Academic, Mal. Garba Isma’il Fagge according to the statement emphasised that the Institution has zero tolerance to examination misconducts and fake results. Bagwai quoted Fagge reiterating that the newly admitted students’ credentials presented to the institution during registration process will be verified, adding that anyone with the fake result will be expelled. Kano politics has started taking a violent turn as group of unidentified armed thugs on Thursday morning set the gubernatorial campaign office of Senator Barau Jibrin, ablaze. Jibrin is a factional governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Senator Ibrahim Shekarau ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election. Fund raising: KASSOSA targets #950 million to improve Science Colleges

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano Kano Science Schools Old Students Associations (KASSOSA) projected to raise over 950 million Naira from it's members and other philanthropist, for the purpose of renovating as well as improving the educational system of Science Colleges in Kano and Jigawa. This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary General of KASSOSA Malam Habibu Ahmadu, and sent to Daily News 24. The statement added that the Association see it necessary to fill the gaps from 13 Science Colleges in Kano and Jigawa, to support the effort of the Governments in renovating and advancing the educational system.
