Tsangaya schools deteriorates success of COVID vaccine - CITAD
Report gathered by Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) Kano, says that Tsangaya teachers are one of the challenges behind success of COVID vaccine in Kano State.
Project Manager of the Center Hamza Ibrahim made this known in a News Conference in Kano, as source of their finding from partners working toward the success of curbing the virus.
He said many teachers believed that the vaccine is not as important as other critical problems they are battling with, as they need much attention than giving them COVID vaccine.
"This is only the major hindrance to vaccinating not only the teachers but hundreds other students, which we recommend that authorities close to them to proffer solution to problems around them, to get the easy opportunity of vaccinating them as they form a very considerable number in the State," CITAD.
Hamza Ibrahim said it is unfortunate despite the difficult moment that COVID has pushed people into, vaccination against the virus in the country is still not encouraging.
"Premium Times report edition of 4 December 2021, shows that only 3% of Nigerians are vaccinated, which is disturbing due to the fact that Omicron variant is surfacing".
The Project Manager of CITAD, Hamza Ibrahim called on the people, religious and traditional rulers to go and take theirs as this will help in the move the curb the spread of the virus in the country.
"We urge people to disregard fake narratives on the vaccine, as it's proven scientifically, and ensure strict adherence to COVID protocols in public gathering as the virus is still around us," Ibrahim.
