Consul General of Saudi Arabia visits KACCIMA, promised bilateral relation

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano The Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Kano Nigeria, Mr. Khalil Admawiy urged the businessmen to use recommendations of  Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) before applying for Visa in the Consulate Office. Kano Head Office of ICRC trained the Health personnel from various States not to spread the disease peculiar to the dead body to the healthy people. The party National Congress Committee Leader, Barrister Auwalu Abdullahi, leading other six members, announced after an exhaustive voting by 3,320 delegates that lasted for almost six hours, that despite a consensus arrangement, open door election was allowed. EFCC Detains Kwankwaso over alleged fraud

                                      Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso A former Governor of Kano State, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, on Saturday, turned himself in for interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ). This came weeks after this newspaper reported how the top member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shunned previous invitations by the anti-corruption agency. His decision to turn himself in could have been made to avert possible arrest which our reporter learnt was being planned by the commission. NCC disqualifies Nigerians below 18 from getting SIM

The Nigerian Communications Commission has disqualified anyone below the age of 18 from registering and owning a Subscriber Identity Module in Nigeria. This is according to the draft copy of the modified Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations published on the commission’s website. In the modified regulations, NCC limited telecoms subscribers to only include anyone above the age of 18. “Subscriber’ means a person not below the age of 18 years who subscribes to communications services by purchasing a subscription medium or entering into a subscription contract with a licensee.” The Licensee refers to ‘a provider of communications services that utilises a subscription medium in the Federal Republic of Nigeria’. The regulations were made in line with the powers conferred upon the commission by section 70 of the Nigerian Communications Act,2003.                              Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta Over 180 million telephone lines are now linked with the National Identity Numbers (NIN), the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta disclosed on Tuesday. He said this following the capturing of over 60 million Nigerians by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in the National Identity Numbers (NIN) database. Danbatta also said from available statistics, the telecommunications industry has bounced back with broadband penetration peaking at 41 percent while active telephone subscribers have increased by over one million. He spoke while delivering his address during the Public Inquiry on three Regulatory Instruments on the Rule Making Process at the headquarters of the Commission in Abuja.

Undergraduates studying education to get N75K per semester

The wife of Kano Kano State Governor professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje landed in Kano early hours of Tuesday, after she was arrested by the EFCC over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son. Reports says Mrs. Ganduje was arrested on Monday Evening by operatives of EFCC after she failed to honor EFCC's invitation. Reliable sources at the commission said the powerful Kano State Governor’s wife was interrogated till the late hours of yesterday Monday. ‘’She was released yesterday and asked to report back when she is needed, ‘’said the source.

Breaking: EFCC arrests Ganduje's wife

                                              Her Excellency Prof. Hafsat Ganduje Hafsat Ganduje , the wife of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, has been arrested by the EFCC over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son. The arrest comes weeks after her failure to honour the anti-graft agency’s invitation. Mrs. Ganduje had earlier been invited to report to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters on September 13, PREMIUM TIMES reported previously. But she did not appear and the EFCC then threatened to arrest her. Sources close to her later said she travelled to the UK at the time to attend the graduation ceremony of her son. Investigators are questioning Mrs Ganduje over allegations relating to land fraud in a petition by her own son, Abdualzeez Ganduje. A person, who has the knowledge of the arrest but asked not to be identified, said “she was arrested (Monday) evening.” ...

Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger down simultaneously

Biggest social media platforms in the world have gone down. WhatsApp , Instagram and Facebook are currently experiencing a major outage around the world since 4:39 pm on Monday. The three apps – which are all owned by Mark Zuckerberg. Visitors to the WhatsApp web are experiencing 5xx Server Error while others app run by the company were all down together. On their verified WhatsApp’s twitter account, the company said it is aware of the issue, saying the tech company is working to get things back up and running. “We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!”

The former governor who was the first democratically elected governor to serve Kano for 8 uinterrupted years says when ever the state accountant general came back from the meeting of Federation account allocation committee meeting he went straight and meet with the commissioner for local government and then immediately release the funds . According to the senator representing Kano Central senatorial district said the same applies to the legislature and judiciary,noting that after every three months he releases their funds for their Operation and upkeep. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it is not recruiting and urged the general public to disregard information circulating on social media saying that the corporation was recruiting. The corporation disclosed this in a statement signed by its spokesman, Garba Deen Muhammad, in Abuja, on Sunday. “This is to inform the public that the information circulating in the Social Media that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is conducting a recruitment exercise IS NOT TRUE and the public should disregard it in its entirety. “Whenever NNPC decides to conduct a recruitment exercise, it will announce this to the public through authentic public communication channels, including the NNPC’s website (www.nnpcgroup.com). ” Once again the NNPC is not recruiting,” he said.
