The hypocrisy in youth activism and so called youth advocates for participation in politics

Some weeks
back an association, organization or whatever you like to call it came to Kano
and host an event at Bristol Palace. This association is aim at bringing youths
together for a better tomorrow, this is the real picture they show to the world
and that is the main reason why respected comrades and qualitative youths
attended that event without knowing the real face of the association. I
attended the event and I noted the below:
* The venue
of the event is a place for no ordinary person (Bristol Palace). For me if you
are talking about Youth activism, you should invite us to Indoor Stadium, Sabon
Gari stadium, a secondary school, may be Mumbayya House or places like that
where we will drink pure water, sweat and face the reality.
* It is
strictly on invitation: When you are advocating for Youth activism you should
be an open book, all youths are invited irrespective of religion, status,
culture, political party or ethnicity. Even if you cannot accommodate all, you
can do it based on representation for example the youths in school unionism,
the youths in politics, entrepreneur youths, the disabled (blind, deaf,
crippled etc.), the poor youths, the rich youths, thug youths and so forth. You
should cross all lines; they have their own leadership.
* The people
who attended or let me say who were invited are all from the same class that is
the bourgeoisie (rich/influential) and to be fair the average class too. My
question is what happens to the proletariats (poor/weak youths).
* The guests
that attended the occasion also are a major source of concern because it
indicates a movement sponsored to protect the interest of some powerful people
but not the youths.
* The
resources spent are also a major source of concern, Youths activists giving
flight tickets "to and pro “??? Youths activists booking hotel rooms for
people to sleep???
The above
are just few observations I made and I have a lot of data's regarding this so
called bringing youths together, the youths should shine their eyes, the era of
deceit is here and we will make sure we use our torch lights to show the youths
the right direction.
