Prohibition of the use of statues remains - Hisbah

The Kano State Hisbah Board said that the ban on the use of statues in clothing and tailoring shops across the state is still in place.

According to the Commander General Harun Muhammad Sani (Ibn Sina), the action was taken because the use of the statue was against Islamic teaching.

However, at a meeting with the Tailors National Association, the Hisbah Board reiterated that the ban was in place.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of Hisbah Board, Lawal Fagge.

The statement added that, Ibn Sina during the meeting said, in accordance with the Hisba Act of 2001, which was amended in 2003, prohibits any seamstress from wearing a statue, which bears the image of a perfect human being, whether female or male.

“But it can also be used by someone who is not self-employed or a child, she is a bit of a bully. “This is one of the most important issues discussed today,” Ibn Sina reiterates.

The Hisbah Commander then called on the Tailors to comply with the Board rules and seek to clean up their business.
