Eidil Fitr: KAROTA deploys 2000 personnel to ease traffic, check underage driving

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) have concluded plans for the deployment of no fewer than 2,000 personnel across the State during the forthcoming Sallah Celebration. In a statement on Saturday by Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa, Public Relations Officer (KAROTA) said the operation was part of the agency’s mandate to ensure free flow of traffic in the State. “Agency deemed it necessary to deploy large number of its personnel during the festivity period considering large turnout of vehicles and other road users recorded during the period.” According to the statement “The officers have been charged to ensure motorists and other road users comply with all the State laws with regards to driving and the use of roads so as to prevent unnecessary traffic hold-ups recorded during such festivity in the past,” The statement pointed out that Agency will arrest and prosecute anyone who violates traffic laws during the season as some unscrupulous persons have ma...
