Training will improve capacity building of SDGs personnel - Habib Hotoro

The Office of the Special Adviser on SDGs, Barr. Habib Yahaya Hotoro has launched the first training Workshop for Kano State SDGs Desk Officers on Data Collection, Monitoring and Evaluation and System Strengthening for policy planning and tracking the Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria, sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs).

The training is designed to equip participants with the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary for efficient service delivery in the conduct of their assignment.

It is expected that at the end of the training, the participants drawn from various MDAs will be proficient in data collection as well as monitoring and evaluation, which are the bedrock for effective planning and policy formulation.

The event was attended by Commissioners of Budget and Planning, Nura Dankadai, Housing & Transport, Hon. M.M Santsi, Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, DG Kano Bureau of Statistics, Malam Baballe Ammani.

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has approved the appointment of Dr. Maimuna Abdullahi Habib as Chief Veterinary Officer of Nigeria. This was contained in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Olaniran Alabi. According to the letter the appointment takes effect from March, 17th, 2022. Reports says that Dr. Maimuna Habib is the first female to be appointed Chief Veterinary Officer of Nigeria. Dr. Maimuna Abdullahi Habib, an indigene of Dambazau town in Takai Local Government area of Kano State was born on 11th of January, 1963. FULL LIST: APC inaugurates state chairpersons from 34 state

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano The National caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, inaugurated party chairpersons for 34 states and the federal capital territory (FCT). Reports say that the party members had converged on the headquarters of the APC in Abuja for the inauguration amid heavy security. Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the caretaker/extraordinary convention planning committee (CECPC) — represented by John Akpanudoedehe, secretary of the committee — inaugurated the state chairpersons, excluding those of Kano and Sokoto. The development comes weeks before the party’s national convention scheduled for February 26. The party did not state exact reasons for excluding Sokoto and Kano. However, while there is an ongoing court case involving the APC in Kano, party crisis in Sokoto had resulted in parallel congresses.
