President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja on Friday, following a medical check-up in London, UK. Buhari left the country on March 6. He had earlier planned to embark on the medical trip from Nairobi, Kenya after attending the United Nations Environmental Programme at 50, but returned to Nigeria on March 4. While in London, the President met with Mai Mala Buni, the Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee. The presidential aircraft carrying Buhari touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 7.09pm.

Governor Mai Buni of Yobe State and his Niger State counterpart, Abubakar Sani Bello, have reconciled. This is just as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is working hard to ensure a successful nation convention. The event will be held on March 26 after postponements and accusations that the leadership was buying time to remain in office. Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, on Thursday revealed that he will not resign from office until the end of his tenure in 2023. The Minister of Justice disclosed while speaking at a conference organised by the National Association of Judiciary Correspondents, debunking the reports of his resignation. Malami said, “Many who relied on some unprofessional information disseminators will be taken aback that the Malami that was claimed to have resigned as Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice was still seen in office discharging his functions including attending the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday, granting interviews to journalists and still today declaring this conference open as the Attorney General of the Federation. “There is naturally an end to everything. My tenure in office has not yet ended. I pray for a glorious end.”

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano The National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and the presidential aspirant in the 2023 general election, Ahmed Bola Tinubu on Wednesday said contesting the presidency is a herculean task, saying he needed three critical things from Nigerian Senators. He stated this while addressing the Senate APC caucus during a consultation visit to the National Assembly, Abuja. He sought the “Counsel, Partnership and Support” of Senators so that he could be properly guided for a successful February 2023 presidential election which he would be contesting. The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari has appointed Dr. Usman Abubakar Jos as the 12th  Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin. Solacebase Newspaper reports that the eleventh Balogun, Alhaji Abubakar Jos died on June 4th, 2021 at the age of 97. The Emir announced the appointment on Tuesday evening at the palace. Dr. Usman Abubakar Jos, is a senior lecturer at University of Ilorin.
