World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is an annual celebration of the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

World Red Cross Red Crescent Day is celebrated on 8 May each year. 

This date is the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, who was born on 8 May 1828. He was the founder of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the recipient of the first Nobel Peace Prize.

Details on this year's celebration with the theme 'Be Human Kind'.

The supervisor of the Project from Economic Security Unit of ICRC in Kano, Musa Peter said the four days training was geared towards training the beneficiaries with different business ideas that will help them to formulate the viable business plan and develop it into reality, and also managing the business opportunity for them to be self reliant. Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano The Financial Services Regulation Coordinating Committee (FSRCC) has advised members of the public to refrain from dealing with illegal financial operators (IFOs). The committee said this in an advisory posted on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN’s) website on Monday. FRSCC is an inter-agency body set up to deal with matters of common interest and concern to the various regulatory and supervisory authorities in the financial services industry.
