ASUP STRIKE: Kano Poly shut down Academic Activities

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Kano State chapter (ASUP), has shut down all it's academic activities for the period of two weeks.
Chapter Chairman of the Union Dr. Muntaka Dahiru stated this in a Press statement sent to 'The Historica Nigeria'.
The 'Historica Nigeria' reported that ASUP asked it's members to be ready to stop their academic activities if the Government failed to fulfilled it's promises.
The Chapter therefore appealed to the stakeholders, and well meaning citizens to support the Union demands, as it's for the benefit of the overall society.
The most important part of the agreement includes the release of 15 billion for the revitalization of the Polytechnics and Monotechnics, and payment of arrears of minimum wage, the inauguration of the Governing Council and the pay as you earned liability issue.
The Chairman then called on parents and students to exercise patience, as the strike action remains the only alternative left for the Union.
