548 Cadets passed out from Immigration Training School

Federal Government has urged the Officers that passed out from Immigration Training School Kano to show commitment in their working places so as to maintain the vision and mission of Nigerian Immigration Service.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola stated this today, during the passing out parade (POP) of the 47th Basic Superintendent Course 2021/2022 on Tuesday.

The Minister represented by Commissioner, Civil Defence, Custom, Fire Service and Immigration Board, Emmanuel Bassey, said the Service experience rapid transformation after introducing digital system  that remove difficulties of the past.

He said before the end of this year, the Service would also be improve, which no doubt the stress of the Officers will be reduce to compete globally.

He added that, the new activated passport tracking system will allows applicants to monitor and be able to know the status of their application through online process.

"One of our challenges in the past is the issuance of passport, which I'm happy to announce that we have overcome this and now on the system of seamless passport administration.

"I'll now called on Nigerians to follow the regulations been put by the Service, by simply going through the NIS Online portal, Emmanuel Bassey.

The Commissioner then directs Officers to do the needful and avoid any practice that subverts the new process.

Speaking during the POP celebration, Acting Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Idris Here, urged officers to strictly follow the rules governing the operations of the Service.


"The cardinal principle you have to put at the back of your mind is, you have to be honest and be professionally up to date.

He then appealed to them to be the good ambassadors of the Service, and Nigeria at large.

Speaking earlier, the Commandant of Immigration Training School Kano, Ado Rano, said the passed out Officers were taken through a rigorous training of modern border security and migration management to prepare them for the task ahead.

Ado Rano thanked the Comptroller General for improving the Service according to the World Standard.

'The Historica Nigeria' gathered that, head of security agencies, traditional rulers, members of the public and other well wishers graced the occasion.
