ADC set to receive renown Islamic Scholar into the party

The African Democratic Congress has set a Date for the reception of sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, the Chairman Kano State Council of Ulamas into the Political journey of the party.

The Chairman of the party in Kano Musa Shuaibu Ungogo, stated this to Newsmen in Kano.

According to the ADC Chairman, the National Headquarters of African Democratic Congress has fixed 20th of March 2022 for the reception of an Islamic scholar, and Politician Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil as he joins the party .

Musa Ungogo noted that Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil will be received with his structures drawn from the 44 Local Government areas of Kano State as members of African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The ADC Chairman said the National Executives of the party are well prepared to receive the renown Islamic scholar.

Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil who joins the ADC recently fell out with the present Kano State Government around 2018 when he resigned as special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on special duties.

Late last year some faction of Islamic scholars allegedly on the orders of Kano state Government converged at the Press Centre and addressed a Press Conference announcing the removal of Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil as Chairman Kano Council of Ulamas.

The faction of the scholars immediately replaced Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil with Chairman Kano State pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Abdullahi Sale Pakistan.

The controversy rages on when other prominent Islamic scholars also came out to distance themselves from the removal of Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil as their Chairman, among them were Sheikh Abdallah Abdulwahab and renown expert in Islamic banking and finance Sheikh Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar and Dr. Sa'idu Ahmad Dukawa.

Another young scholar Sheikh Lawal Abubakar Triumph also condemned the move.
