Kaduna: Gunmen kill 10, raze houses

A community of Atak Mawai in Zaman Dabo village, Atyap Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf local Government area of Kaduna state was attacked by unknown gunmen killing about ten persons.

The attackers also burnt down about ten houses, according to the eye witness source who sought anonymity.

The source revealed that “the attackers stormed the community around 3 a.m, when the people were asleep and went from house to house unleashing terror on the people.”

“As I am given out this information, we are yet to ascertain the number of those killed and those injured by the attackers until we go round the area that is when we know who and who is around and what actually happened.”

“Most of those killed were burned in their houses as the people were fast asleep as at the time the gunmen came to the community,” he explained.

He said security personnel came to ensure calm in the area and forestall further attacks.

Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Supritendant Mohammed Jalige, did not respond as of the time of compiling the report.
