Breaking: Bawa Slumps in Abuja

The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, was rushed out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after slumping at a programme, on Thursday.

Bawa was giving his goodwill message at the National Identity Day celebration when he suddenly stopped speaking.

He was talking about a man the commission arrested in Ibadan, Oyo state, with 116 SIM cards when the incident happened.

Bawa had stopped talking and covered his face with his right palm, saying, “Please, excuse me, I can’t continue.”

According to Daily Trust Newspaper, he was assisted to his seat by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami and other senior officials at the event, but the anti-graft czar slumped on his seat, which he was immediately rushed out of the seat of power.

The Master of Ceremony (MC) later announced that the Bawa’s condition was stable.

“I am happy to announce to you that the EFCC Chairman is now stable,” he said.

But the Chairman and those who rushed him out are yet to return to the hall as at time of filing this report.

Sallah: NSCDC deploys 3005 operatives in Kano to ensure safety

  Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have deployed 3005 tactical operation squad to places of Sallah festivities in Kano. This was contained in a statement issued to Daily News 24 by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi. The statement noted that an emergency response unit team will also be available in Kano metropolis during the period, to ensure hitch free Sallah festivities as well as protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
