JUST IN: Former Deputy Senate President, Nasiru Mantu is dead

A former deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ibrahim Nasiru Mantu, is dead.

Mantu, who was Plateau Central Senator reportedly died in the wee hours of Tuesday.

No further details about the cause of his death has been revealed by his immediate family, as at press time.

Mantu was bom on Februay 16, 1947.

Sallah: NSCDC deploys 3005 operatives in Kano to ensure safety

  Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have deployed 3005 tactical operation squad to places of Sallah festivities in Kano. This was contained in a statement issued to Daily News 24 by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi. The statement noted that an emergency response unit team will also be available in Kano metropolis during the period, to ensure hitch free Sallah festivities as well as protection of critical national assets and infrastructure. The Commandant of the Corps in Kano, Idris Adamu Zakari, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kano Command assured general public of their safety and protection of infrastructure, while cautioning them to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security agents.
