Admission into Science and Technical Colleges will be based on merit - Kano State Government
Kano State Government said gaining admission into Science and Technical Colleges of the State will be based on the capacity of students.
The Executive Secretary of Kano State Science and Technical Schools Board, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi made the assertion while inspecting the conduct of the Senior classes entrance examination at Examination Centers of Day Science College, Government Technical College Kano, Mairo Tijjani Girls Science and Technical College, and Governors College.
Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi maintained that the Board does not have a preferred candidate, as it will only consider who meet the quote of marks issue by the board, he then called on the public to discard any story that attributing the success in the examination to giving preferential treatment to anybody.
The Executive Secretary further explained that the Board under his leadership has always referred to criteria enshrined in the Board's edict regarding the enrollment of students into the respective colleges, which without it the concept of admitting a befitting students in the colleges could not be achieved.
"Science and Technical Colleges suppose to be in higher standard from any other Schools, and if you want to maintain the standard the issue of who to admit comes up, number of students also has to be taking into consideration," Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi.
He then expressed satisfaction on the conduct of examination at all centers visited by his team, which he rated as smooth one.
According to him the Board as usual will make the results of the candidates available  in it's official website after undergoing a thorough marking by the Science and Technical Board examiners.
