Inuwa Waya: The Candidate firmly against drug abuse
By Suhaib Auwal Mu'az
Several reports from the National and International Organizations that fights drug abuse shows that 14.3 million Nigerians use hard drugs and Kano happens to be the epicenter of the menace.
Drug abuse has been the underlying factor of political thuggery and hooliganism, as politicians exploit young people by given them money and drugs for electoral violence or intimidation during campaigns.
The Kano politics is well-known for political thuggery and hooliganism, while politicians plays a key role in fueling the heinous act by sponsoring youth and handling drugs to them to carry out electoral violences or other politically related crimes.
Recently, Kano state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje condemned the act of some political leaders by engaging youth in political violence and fired a strong warning to political thugs and their sponsors.
This comes after one of the Kano state gubernatorial candidate His Excellency Inuwa Waya clearly stated that 'he is against drug abuse and strongly condemned political thuggery.'
In different meetings with youth organizations, Inuwa Waya pointed out that he will never engage thugs in his political journey. Hence, there is no room for drug addicts in his political camp.
The seasoned politician Inuwa Waya firmly stated that his political movements would be very clean. No thugs, no drug abusers nor hooligans. He plans to engage educated young people with vision and determination to move Kano forward.
He is always concerned about the future of young people. Therefore, he is committed to give them sense of belonging in his political activities and mentor them for their well-being and betterment of Kano state.
When candidates are busy trying to form their thugs circle, His Excellency Inuwa Waya stands in opposite side, engaging youth in discussions and propelling long-lasting solution to problems bedeviling youth development.
As a successful lawyer and philanthropist, Barrister Inuwa Waya believes that the need to create job opportunities for youth and effective empowerment programs is of paramount importance, and it will be the best way to tackle drug abuse, as well as political thuggery which forces serious threat to the political and economic development of Kano state.
At this time when Kano is in dire need of revolution in terms of political, economical and social development, unarguably His Excellency Inuwa Waya would be the best candidate to succeed Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as a Governor of Kano in 2023.
