FG Roll-Out Farm Inputs to Flood Victims in Kano, Assured Continuous Support

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has distributed Farm inputs to victims of flood in Kano on Tuesday.
The beneficiaries were given items ranging from water pump, jab planter, solar charcoal, protective clothing, winnower, orange push cart, Drip Irrigation kit with tank, handheld motorized weeded, threshers and solar powered water pump.
Handing over the items to the beneficiaries, the State Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Kano Office, Alhaji Abba Gana Yamani said this, is part of the Federal Government's efforts to mitigate the adverse effect of flooding by ensuring that farmers get inputs to start planting as soon as possible.
"It has been the culture of the ministry under the leadership of the Honourable Minister Alhaji Sabo Nanono, to assist farmers always, this is one of the parts of the assistance rendered to the farmers" he said.
He further restate that the programme was specifically meant for last year's flood victims, hence the need for the ministry to extensively screen and ascertain the proper candidates.
He urged the victims not to be persuaded and discouraged by the disaster but to put more efforts and avoid farmlands with liable threat to flooding.
Recall that Minister Nanono has in September 2020 led Presidential delegation to Kebbi to ascertain the extent of damages of the flood disaster and to restore hope and build up confidence for the flood victims in the state.
The Minister has since then, began distribution of farm inputs to the victims in Kebbi and Jigawa in order to address the situation and give the farmers hope as well as assure them Government's concern about their plight.
Abba Gana acknowledged the resilience of the farmers and encouraged them to do more not only to compensate for lost grounds but also to generate more support.
The beneficiaries thanked Minister Sabo Nanono for the proactive steps taken to embark on an intervention to them and promised that they will remain focused and consistent with their farming activities.
