Census: Kano Government to count Fulani Herders, Household owners

Kano State Government said it will create a system to count Fulani Herdsmen and household owners in the state. Director General Bureau of Statistic, Baballe Ammani stated this in an interview with Correspondent, Umar Idris Shuaibu. Ammani said it’s imperative to tackle the security challenges facing Northern part of the country, and to improve means of livelihood. Umar Idris Shuaibu - Jos International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) trained Professional Journalists from ten states of the country on Humanitarian Reporting. The two day training covers Journalists from Print, Electronic and Online Media Organisations. Speaking earlier ICRC Communication Coordinator Abuja Delegation Mr. Robin Waudo said the training was aimed at equipping Journalists with necessary knowledge of approaching humanitarian reporting. Waudo added that the engagement would enable the Media Organisations as well as their representative to share the experiences on humanitarian activity with the people that did not get the opportunity to attend. Kano Govt, DHQ strengthen effort to stop banditry

The Government of Kano State and the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), have resolved to further strengthen the ongoing efforts to tackle the activities of bandits in the state. Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State made the call when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, on Thursday in Abuja. The Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, in Abuja. Security involvement: 'Presence of Navy in Kano possible' CNS to Ganduje

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Real Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo informs the governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, that his office would form a committee to go to Kano and assess facilities the state would provide for the presence of the Nigerian Navy in the state. He made this known when the Governor paid him a courtesy visit at his office, at Naval Headquarters, Abuja, Thursday, disclosing that, “We have Naval Special Forces that can serve on any terrain in the country. FG Roll-Out Farm Inputs to Flood Victims in Kano, Assured Continuous Support

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has distributed Farm inputs to victims of flood in Kano on Tuesday. The beneficiaries were given items ranging from water pump, jab planter, solar charcoal, protective clothing, winnower, orange push cart, Drip Irrigation kit with tank, handheld motorized weeded, threshers and solar powered water pump.
