Mustapha Nuhu Wali (mni) has charged youths to take  full ownership of KASSOSA, stating the roles played by the association as significantly important, "it is therefore pertinent that we work together as a team for this common goal of positively transforming KASSOSA", he said. Wali made the statement while receiving an award of excellence during the 2021 AGM of KASSOSA BUK Chapter in Kano. How gunmen attacked Plateau community, kill seven - Police

Gunmen attacked Dong Community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau on Sunday and killed seven persons. “At about 8 p.m. on Sunday, we received a distress call that gunmen invaded Dong Village and killed seven persons, police spokesman in Plateau, ASP Ubah Ogaba, said in a statement issued on Monday in Jos. “A combined team of policemen, personnel of Operation Safe Haven, and Vigilance operatives, raced to the scene but the hoodlums had fled into the bush.   “Investigation is on-going, Frantic effort is on to arrest the fleeing suspects. “Meanwhile security has been beefed up in that area to prevent escalation of violence or reprisal,’’ he added. Ogaba called on members of the public with useful information on the whereabouts of the criminals to report to security agencies. He also advised residents of the community to be law-abiding, insisting that the security agencies would do everything to fish out the perpetrators.

President Muhammadu Buhari, at the burial of the fallen officers and men on Saturday, said Lieutenant General Attahiru was an epitome of gallantry and bravery which culminated in his being appointed the chief of army staff. Bandits kill over 20 people in Zamfara State attacks

Umar Idris Shuaibu - Kano About 20 people have been killed and many others injured when bandits attacked five communities in two local government areas of Zamfara State. Some residents in the affected communities confirmed the attacks and the casualties to journalists in an interview on Sunday. Eyewitnesses said that the bandits, in large numbers, invaded the communities on Saturday evening and started shooting sporadically, killing innocent residents. The bandits were said to have killed 11 persons and abducted many in Saulawa town in Zurmi Local Government Area. Witnesses said the attackers also vowed to return to the area. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated during an exclusive interview with with Correspondent Umar Idris Shuaibu, shortly after a visit by the Coalition of Fulani Association in Kano. Ganduje Condoles Commissioner over death of her father

Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje through his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is offering his deepest sympathy to the Commissioner Of Higher Education, Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure over the death of her father Alhaji Muhammad Rabi'u Inuwa after a protracted illness. The Governor also states that, "We are indeed saddened by this irreplaceable loss and we  are therefore praying for you and your entire family at this period of grief". He then prayed that the virtues which Alhaji Muhammad Rabi'u Inuwa lived for will continue to inspire all who knew him and many more generations to come. The Governor added may Almighty Allah comfort the bereaved family to bear the loss with strength to remain steadfast and also grant Jannatul Firdaus to the deceased.  This was contained in a statement by Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Kano State Hassan Musa Fagge.

BUK students organizes Iftar to foster unity among students

Bayero University Kano, Library and Information Science students (LIS) on Thursday organized a special Iftar to break their Ramadan fast. The level Coordinator of 100 Library and Information Science Students, Dr. Hauwa S. Ahmad, advised the Library and information science students to be good ambassadors of the institution. Dr. Hauwa urged them to always exhibit love and care among themselves to foster unity. Earlier speaking, the class representative Saleh Isah, said the Iftar event was organized to expressed happiness over the success recorded in their first-semester examination result. “We thank the Almighty God for given us the opportunity to hold this event, our intention is to show our gesture to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’alah for having good grades in our first-semester examination,” Saleh Isah said. Pharmacist Ghali Sule stated this shortly after an Iftar eating Programme that the association organised to their members in Kano. The President said the Iftar Programme unite more than one thousand members of KASSOSA from all the nook and crannies of the country, who sat and break their fast with their old friends. "You can see that KASSOSA is the only old Students Association that organise this kind of Programme to all it's members, not talking of Class Chapters but the overall Association", Ghali Sule said.
